My son has been active from the womb. From the time he could crawl we have had to find places that will keep my busy son moving. So needless to say, whenever we travel, finding a good playground has been an essential need. Now that my daughter is mobile, she has loved getting in on the action herself.
I thought it would be fun to do a photo tour of some of our favorite playgrounds along our travels:
Children’s Play Area, Incheon International Airport, Seoul South Korea
During a connection, we discovered this play area and the fact that my 10 month old son could climb stairs!
Marina Fiesta Resort & Spa, Cabo San Lucas, Mexico
One of the reasons we picked this all-inclusive was because of the playground that was on site, which we used multiple times a day.
Waterfront, Keyport, New Jersey
This park is right on the beach of the Raritan Bay and two blocks from my mother’s house. It’s the playground I played in as a child and I love bringing my son here every time we are in New Jersey.
Bharat Petroleum Housing Complex, Chembur, Mumbai India
The housing complex, only for Bharat Petroleum employees, has three playgrounds. The favorite had quite a selection of tall slides.
Cedar Street Park, Keyport, NJ
When the water front park was badly damaged in Hurricane Sandy, we found a new park a bit further away. At this point my daughter was starting to get involved.
SkyPark, Scott’s Valley, CA
On our recent road trip, we found this massive park with two play areas to burn energy after lunch.
What playgrounds have you and your family enjoyed along the way?
Singapore is great for playgrounds, and you can usually find something not too far away if you keep your eyes peeled. But highlights for me:
West Coast Park has multiple play areas to cater for all ages, Palawan Beach (Sentosa) is nice with a splash park, small playground next to the beach, and then of course the beach!
Tiong Bahru has a great one for train enthusiasts – play equipment shaped like a train.
Lastly Hort Park which has a nice kid’s playground and then you can also walk in the gardens, see the butterfly house, learn some horticulture and grab some coffee (or a meal if you’re ambitious).
I’m trying to remember the name of the one in Brisbane in Toowong area that has a flying fox and gated area for toddlers, but it just escapes me. Anzac Park! Thanks Google.
Kalinga Park at Wooloowin has a great and diverse play area. Sandgate also has a top park, and more seaside there, too. Brisbane is pretty good for parks, too. New Farm Park is the other one to mention.
Robin, we should do a blog/wiki with reviews of bay area playgrounds, I have been longing to find one!! That said, a trip to Monterey is worth it just to go visit the Dennis the menace playground- amazing!!!!
Amazing to see how different Cedar street is now. I remember that one from the summer recreation program.
I thought the same thing. I didn’t remember it being that fun but my son loves it!
