Having children in elementary school means that I get to occasionally go on fun class trips. And nothing is more fun than the Bay Area Discovery Museum with a group of energetic and excited kindergartners.
Looking out the lines of the bus window, excited to head to the museumEnjoying the outdoor play area, and using the large building blocks to make structures of interesting designs and linesThe museum is a place that literally encourages kids to “Color Outside the Lines” and has a room dedicated to coloring on the walls, tables, and other surfacesIn one of the rooms, children are encouraged to build with Kapla blocks, and one of my sweet kindergartens build this curvy, whimsical creationA group activity had the kids making a joint mural. The kindergartners are masters at using lines and color as well as their imaginationOne of the best parts of the museum, the beautiful view of the Golden Gate Bridge, and its classic straight and curved lines
The Bay Area Discovery Museum is a must visit with young children. It’s a place that lets your children’s imagination take hold.
Hello, I’m Robin, the founder of Around the World with Kids. I’ve been traveling since I was 10 months old and refuse to stop. Luckily I found a husband who will indulge me. Now we travel near and far with my two young children, and write about our journey to help inspire you on yours.
