Santa Cruz, California

Santa Cruz, California.  Typical California beach town filled with tanned young beach bums, surfers and hard core beach volleyball players.  Throw in a boardwalk with thrill rides and fun foods like funnel cake and corn dogs and you have a fun place to spend a few days of summer.

I unexpectedly found myself with a few days off around Independence day and homesick for summer on the Jersey Shore.  So, we made an impromptu plan.  A cheap hotel room on priceline.com sealed the deal and soon we were on the road to spend July 4th in Santa Cruz enjoying a typical summer day in Cali.

A good road trip has smiling or sleeping kids!

Our Mission:

  1. Go to the beach and get some sun, sand and waves.
  2. Play on the boardwalk
  3. See some fireworks
  4. Ride a steam train.

We only managed 3 out of 4 but really enjoyed our impromptu trip.   Stay tuned as I take you through our adventures.
