Off to Jaipur We Go

As part of our plan to see more of the country, the family headed to Jaipur in Rajasthan, the land of palaces and forts. One of the highest visited places after the Taj Mahal, in my 6 trips to India, I’ve never been. Finally that we are in India for a length of time, we are taking the long awaited trip my husband promised me since our first trip to India in 2004.

Our plan was to base ourselves in Jaipur, the capital, and the city with the most sights to see for 5 days before returning to Mumbai. My friend E joined us for our first 3 days in the city before she left to see the Taj Mahal. Packed up with the kids in tow, we met on the plane to see the famous desert where kings and armies desperately fought to maintain their freedom from Mughal rule to the bitter end – a land of a proud people who still have a titular Maharaja. Join us as we see the sights and experience this grand land.
